Yekev Alona is a story of a family winery in moshav Givat Nili, settled at the heart of the “Israeli Provance”. The winery began to operate in 2001, when two wine-loving families with a mutual vision joined together to bring it to life. The Azulay and Rabau families together with their children and friends, not only founded the winery, but are also responsible for growing the vineyards, harvesting the grapes and preparing and selling the wine. Eli and Fanny Azulay, in who’s yard the winery is located, dealt with agriculture all of their lives, since the times Eli served as the head of the regional municipality. Professor Micha Rabau is a surgeon at the Ichilov hospital and his wife, Dr. Ilana Rabau, is a gynecologist and midwife. From choosing grape types to planting, growing, harvesting and the making of the wine- the families alone do it all.

Merloand Cabernet Sauvignon are the types of wine made at the winery. The making process is unique: the vineyards are planted on mountain slopes which roll into Nahal Tannin valley. The area enjoys a special micro-climate which provides the vine with optimal growing conditions that contribute to the quality of the grape. Then, the wine is aged for 14 months in French/American oak barrels. Today there are 16 barrels at the winery.
