Walking around an Israeli street, one is transported back to a time long ago. Streets are filled with open air markets, people bartering for goods and children running around without a care. Perhaps most enticing are the street vendors selling traditional Israeli foods.
The thing that most people first notice about the streets of Isreal is the smell. The fragrance of garlic, olive oil and yeast waft from carts selling shawarma, falafel, sabih and other traditional dishes. Flat bread is made, before your eyes and sold, still smelling yeasty, warm and delicious.May 2013
